Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are proven to dramatically increase the chances of survival in cases of cardiac arrest.
AEDs work by delivering an electric shock to restart a person’s heart. The small, portable machines give clear, spoken instructions and are designed to be used by anyone, even without training.
CSE have teamed up with South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) and Wel Medical who have given us great advice and support in procuring and placing AED's. Legacy for a Legend are using the finds we raise to procure AED's and external cases and deploy them at football and sports grounds around the county. When ever we deploy and AED we ask that it is placed on an external wall so that it will not only be available to the football team using the pitch, but also the local community 24/7.
The AED's we position are registered with SCAS, this means that the people you speak to when you call 999 will know about the AED location and the code to get access to it. In cases of emergency, people should always call 999 in the first instance.

Legacy for a Legend are not associated with the SCAS campaign, we just make sure our devices are registered so they can benefit the whole community.
So far in 2014 we have deployed 5 AED's into the community and will have deployed another 5 by the end of 2015.
