As one of our aims it to increase awareness of what to do in an emergency situation, we are offering free Emergency Life Saving Skills and CPR courses to all teams in the Witney and District League, with a free first aid kit for teams attending.

The courses are run by our volunteer trainer and adviser, Nick Thompson, who is an Advanced Adult and Paediatric Life Support Instructor.

The course follows the UK Resuscitation Council 2010 guidlines for Adult Basic Life Support (BLS).  Link to UK Resuscitation Council site

The courses last approximately 2 hours, with plenty of of tea and biscuits supplied. They are interactive and allow you to get hands on real world experience of the techniques discussed.

Although we are covering a serious subject Nick's style allows for a little bit of humor to make it an informative and enjoyable time.

"The session went really well and everyone said how good it was. I really like the way Nick teaches and the boys can relate to him." Ducklington Football Club - 2013.

As one of our main aims we want to train as many people as possible, from as many clubs as we can. if you have one, two, three or even four teams. We would like to try and train at least two people from each team at each club, so that there is a much better chance there will be someone at each match who has attended the course.

Dont forget that if you attend the course then you will gain a free first aid kit for the team you play for.

If you would like to attend a course or have any queries then please us the form on the contact us page or email us at info@legacyforalegend.org.uk so we can send you details of the next available courses.

WDFA Teams that have attended training so far...

Witney Royals FC, Ducklington FC, Wootton Sports FC, Freeland FC, Hailey FC, Aston FC, Milton FC

Please note that we have suspended first aid training for 2016/2017 whilst we concentrate on deploying Defibs to sports ground in Oxfordshire. Please visit the AED page.
